Wisconsin Homeschooling Rules and Regulations

- 875 hours of instruction each year

( If I continued to do Daycare how would I fit this into our schedules?, What weeks off during the year would we do?, We most likely would not follow a typical schools school year., Would we or do we have to utilize weekends for school time to make it work?)

- No teacher qualifications needed
- Standardized tests not required
-By Oct. 15Th each year the parents must submit a statement of enrollment to the Dept. of Education.
- Must provide sequential progressive curriculum of fundamental instruction. (Reading, language arts, math, social studies, science, health)

LANGUAGE ARTS: silent and oral reading, listening skills, spelling, homonyms, synonyms, antonyms, letters, stories, poems, dictation, typing, dictionary and thesaurus, encyclopedia use, punctuation, table of context, computer skills...

PHYSICAL EDU. AND HEALTH: sports, first aid for splinters, burns, strains, common cold treatments, care of mind and body, traffic safety, meal planning, food preparation.

NATURAL SCIENCE: Seeds, bulbs, plants, flowers, birds, sun, moon, stars, basic constellations, seasons, weather, clouds, fire, temperatures, animals, infant care.

FINE ARTS: drawing, painting, graphics, sewing, dress up, concerts, plays, singing, music at home.
